A white girl helped out all the blacks in town! Huzzah!
Don’t they recognize that as a potential point of criticism? It should be the first thing any critic looks at when you bring them a book about race relations.
The Help was a beautiful, moving book that took me about three seconds to read because I became so engrossed. All that aside, it’s another Blindside (not that I’ve seen the movie, I’m not one for lowering my IQ).
Here’s an idea, potential authors: write a book where a black person pulls out white author’s heads from between their asses.
